Ryan is trained to provide emergency medical services to patients—he is an EMT! Ryan’s day job is working on an ambulance at Physicians Ambulance Service.
They primarily provide interfacility transport for Community Hospital Anderson. He will mostly transfer patients between facilities for higher levels of care or patients who otherwise require medical monitoring. These runs are typically non-emergency.
As Ryan gains experience, he will work on a 911 truck to respond to emergencies outside of the hospital.
Ryan plans to get a year or so of EMT experience and potentially look into nursing, but that’s still some time away. But now Ryan says he can tell his friends that he is both a big celebrity and a hero and that they’d better thank him for his service, which will tide him over for now. JK…as those who know Ryan know, he wouldn’t say that. Ryan is humble and a true example of serving and caring for others first.
For the foreseeable future, Ryan will be on the air at WLBC on the weekends as he has for the last 13 years. Congratulations to Ryan on his certification, and we salute him for his desire to take care of others while still having fun entertaining the people of East Central Indiana on WLBC.
