In an era where change is constant and longevity is rare, Bob Ulm stands as a beacon of dedication and perseverance. On June 12th, Woof Boom Radio proudly celebrated Bob’s 50th Anniversary with WDOH, a milestone that speaks volumes about his commitment and passion for the station and its role in the community. Bob has been instrumental in shaping the station’s success and deep connection with the community. He has worn many hats, from production to sales to his captivating on-air shows and engaging remote broadcasts. Bob’s versatility and skill have been evident. He cemented his legacy as the voice behind the “News You Need to Know” segment, delivering timely and relevant information. Remarkably, Bob has achieved all of this while overcoming significant personal challenges. Blind since an early age, Bob’s journey to the station each morning with his seeing-eye dog, Harvey, is a testament to his resilience and determination. And not all his companions are four-legged. Rick Burgei, a two-legged companion, has been instrumental in assisting Bob in running the morning operations at the studio over the years, and his contributions can’t be discounted either. Thank you, Rick!
Throughout numerous ownership changes, management shifts, and industry evolutions, Bob has remained. Bob understands the power of radio and the pivotal role it plays in a small-town Midwest community like Delphos and has been a cornerstone of WDOH’s enduring presence and relevance. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Bob Ulm as we celebrate this incredible milestone. His contributions over the past 50 years have been invaluable, and his example of perseverance and dedication is one we all strive to emulate.
Thank you, Bob, for being the heart and soul of WDOH. You show the profound impact one person can have on a community and an industry through commitment and hard work year after year!
“I was so honored and grateful to be able to be a part of Bob’s 50th Celebration! What a great day for Bob, WDOH, Woof Boom, and the community! I was overwhelmed by the turnout of people and all the great stories and memories the individuals shared about Bob. You can tell how much he has meant to so many people over the years and the many ways he has impacted the community! But most importantly, we know he’s not done yet and going to continue to find ways to make an impact.”
