Then & Now WLQQ Studio

WLQQ has been in operation for seven years this month. I remember that, in 2017, we had the sidewalk speakers playing sound just in time for the Main Street Christmas Parade past our studio windows.

Here is a “before” picture of Sean Mattingly, the Chief Engineer, contemplating the installation of a console that Jim Stone found on Facebook Marketplace just in time for the launch.

The “after” photo shows what the studio room looked like less than a month later. One of the unique features is that row of five hanging microphone lights. Those were made from Jim’s “parts” of microphones, some LEDs, an old laptop power supply stashed in the ceiling, and some metal mounting plates found in the basement of this office space, which used to be a ceramics gallery/museum. The WLQQ Main Street Studio is a fun place to work because people walk down the sidewalk, groove to the music, and give smiles and thumbs-ups.

NOW

Because of our Main Street location Q106-7 has an opportunity to provide clients with a great chance to view the Lafayette Christmas Parade. We rolled out the red carpet for our “reserved seating” Food and Drinks, Bathrooms, and Warmth, even though it was a pretty nice night. All had a great night!
