Office Manager – Muncie

Office Manager / “the Anchor”

Woof Boom Radio • Muncie, Indiana • Full-time • On-site

If you walk inside our front door in Muncie, the first thing you notice isn’t gold records, transmitters, or soundboards.

It’s a simple sign hanging right on the wall.

Most companies bury their culture inside employee handbooks and corporate buzzwords. We hang ours in plain view because local radio only works when people trust you. And when it’s fun.

Right now, fifty storytellers, broadcasters, journalists, and account reps in this building need an anchor. Someone who loves order when things get loud. Someone who knows that a spreadsheet balanced to the penny, an invoice paid on time, and a broadcast log running to the second aren’t just chores—they are the gears that keep our hometowns informed and connected.

The payroll paperwork says Office Manager. But the right person knows this role is truly the operational heartbeat and steady pulse of our entire station.

What You’ll Actually Be Doing

You won’t be sitting in a corner shuffling paper. You are the hub of the wheel:

  • Keep the House in Order: Direct day-to-day station administration—from managing vendor relationships and facilities to coordinating community events, travel, and internal communications. You’ll build efficient systems that make everyone else’s job easier.
  • Lead the Admin Team: Provide calm, practical direction to our small administrative staff, serving as the trusted communication bridge between our team and station leadership.
  • Master the Numbers & Books: Handle fundamental bookkeeping, expense tracking, invoice processing, payroll support, and budget tracking with precision.
  • Protect the Airwaves (Traffic Support): Partner closely with our Traffic Department on commercial order entry, broadcast log scheduling, continuity management, and reconciliation. If a spot is supposed to air at 7:14 AM, you help make sure it does.
  • Care for the Team: Support onboarding for new hires and maintain confidential personnel records for our 50-person family.

Who You Are

We care far more about your character, your brain, and your follow-through than where you went to school:

  • You thrive on clarity: You’re someone who naturally organizes chaos, spots missing details before anyone else does, and follows through on commitments without needing to be chased down.
  • You’re steady under pressure: When breaking news hits, a client schedule needs emergency adjustment, or three people need your attention at once, you’re the calmest person in the room.
  • You know your way around office tools: Confident with spreadsheets, standard office software, and modern administrative platforms. Experience with broadcast traffic systems or basic accounting software is a strong plus, but an aptitude to learn fast matters most.
  • Your background: You bring 2 to 5 years of solid hands-on experience in office management, administration, or operational coordination. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is welcome.

“Woof Boom Radio has allowed me to spread my wings. I started out as a Sales Assistant, and over the last few years my career has evolved, and I am now the Sales Creative Associate. Although I still assist the sales team, I now lead the charge in writing copy that gets results, am able to be a producer when it’s needed, been a project manager on a couple large events, and I get to co-host a show on WMUN called Page Turners: The Broadcast Book Club. I am very fortunate to work for Woof Boom Radio.”
